EcoVillage
Dear Friends,
Subject: exit plan from the system
Having just flown in from 5 weeks in NW Europe we are excited to share with you some ideas. The last 3 weeks of our adventure was spent travelling around the UK, searching out and receiving messages from sacred sites (Stonehenge, Glastonbury, Avebury etc).
One of our main pilgrimages though was visiting the Retreat Centre/Intentional Community at Findhorn, Scotland. They are a living example of an Eco community with 400 members strong. It was wonderful to see and be there for 4 days. Over the years Findhorn has aquired adjacent parcels of land (and even today are developing another parcel of land) and it would be divided up amongst community members to purchase and build their homes on.
Our neighbour Sandy to the north of us; across from the labyrinth has 38.6 acres of raw land for sale. If say 5 groups went in on this the cost would be $50 – $60K each; depending on the final price offered and accepted and the final number of people that wish to participate.
Click on the attachments to see what you think/feel.
Lots of amazing possibilities here;
• To aquire land at a fraction of the cost…farther down the road there are 5 acre lots for $240,000 or 1.1 acres for $100,000
• We could do something like 7 acres for $50-$60 K each with 3 acres left over for communal garden, greenhouse, orchard, hot tub, sauna, shop etc
• We could also enhance our self sustaining perma culture environment by joining our energies in developing high efficiency energy systems such as geo thermal, solar power, bio mass boiler, compost heating etc
• We can facilitate this with eco building courses i.e straw bale houses, earth homes where students come to help/learn sustainable building skills.
• Considering the dynamics of what is happening locally and globally, economically and environmentally do you really want to continue living and supporting a system that is so impersonal, degrading, debilitating, detrimental, so fear based?
So here is a splendid opportunity for some wonderful people to come together in a mindful / heartful way to play together in a way that creatively promotes self sufficiency and perma culture. Or as they have at Findhorn; create an eco village, a human settlement which inspires to be ecologically, economically, culturally, socially, and spiritually sustainable. For example; organic orchards and veggie garden and a Local Exchange Trading System…LETS.
Important in the life of the eco-village is the creation of a sustainable culture which supports healthy individuals, families, and social structures. The cultural and social fabric of the community is woven through participation in the rhythm of festivals, celebrations, and community events and ______________ which mark our shared joys and sorrows and form the foundation of the community.
Annette and I at QL would be one of the buyers, very supportive of the development of this 38.6 acres. So if this resonates with who you are on Mother Earth then let’s get together as there are infinitely exciting possibilities for the likes of spiritual practice, communicating with nature, building group consciousness, and creative building projects etc
If not you who, if not now when!
Follow your heart and go with the Flow,
Annette and Brian
Ps; it maybe that this is part of a 5 year exit/new life plan for you
