Leaps Lodge
In
the early 1800's, an explorer by the name of David Thompson
discovered a remote valley deep in the Rocky Mountains of
British Columbia. It was a place of pristine natural
beauty and abundant wildlife. He named it the "Blaeberry
Valley" after the Gaelic word for blueberry. Of course the Native Kootenai people were here first, living in harmony with the Mountains and animals that shared their valley. Today,
little about the valley has changed. It is still a place
where elk and deer, wildcat and grizzly/black bear are more common
than people. In this wilderness setting
on the banks of the Blaeberry River, Quantum Leaps
Lodge offers unique accommodations and opportunities
for exploration, adventure, relaxation, and personal growth.
How
to Find Quantum Leaps Lodge
GENERAL DIRECTIONS TO US:
Quantum
Leaps Lodge is only a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive from the International Airport in Calgary, Alberta. To get to us, you drive through the world renowned
scenery of Banff and Yoho National Parks. We are 17
kms or 11 miles Northwest of the town of Golden, BC (approximately 250km
or 156 miles west of Calgary). When traveling from the West, we are an 8 hours drive from Vancouver, 5 hours from Kamloops, BC, 3 hours from Vernon, BC, and 1 1/2 hours from Revelstoke, BC. We are situated on eleven
acres of river frontage property at 2119 Blaeberry River Road.
The North Point cottage and Cliff House are next door at 2121 Blaeberry River
Road. Read further for
specific directions to our place. We are on MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME (same as Calgary, AB).

SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS
TO US:
When
arriving from the East (Calgary), pass by the town of Golden and travel West
for approximately 10km along the Trans Canada Highway (#1).
There will be a Quantum Leaps Lodge sign on the highway to
turn right onto the Moberly Branch Road (the same turn off
as the Wolf/Wildlife Centre/Bear Corner etc). Then follow the Quantum Leaps Lodge signs (located at each major intersection)
for about 8km ( just past Batten Road on the left) to reach us. Our sign is right on the Blaeberry Road.
When
traveling in from the West (Revelstoke), pay attention to the highways
signs that say Golden 13km. Clock approximately 2 to 3km
beyond that and look for the sign to Quantum Leaps Lodge
on the right but you will be turning left. The road you are turning on is the Moberly Branch Road. Follow the
signs from there for about 8 km to our home.
Check in is at the office which is in the
first building on the right. Follow the signs to the Office.
